Websep 25, 2016 · not being able to absorb dragon souls is a issue with the associated skeleton file, if you have any dragon or mesh/texure replaces this would be most likely.
You need to both have and unlocked the shout.

Things i did which may not have helped, i will put in parentheses.
I understand this is a common sort of issue during the final battle.

I find it corrects itself after a while but until then a lot of dragons won't have.
I'm level 81 and playing on ps5.
